Hope For The Future

I heard an interesting fact about Martin Luther, from his writings, he clearly thought the end of the world was imminent. We might speculate on what persuaded him, for example, the apostate church or the black plague, evil nations, or merely the carryover of a similar urgency that began in the first century.

I believe we are in the end times, primarily due to the prophesied reestablished nation of Israel in the land. However, things can get much worse than they are today, not that it’s a criteria, and no matter how bad things appear, God can still overcome it. Fifty years ago, people were alarmed at how much TV people watched, especially children. Of course, little was done about it and today children are constantly plugged into visualization through computers, cell phones and video games. Technology itself is not the evil, but the fallen nature of man evidenced in all manner of wickedness.

Believing parents will monitor and control their children’s exposure to media and other influences of evil, but the seed of evil is resident in every human. Not that we give up our parental responsibility, but we look to the Great Physician and only cure, Yeshua, Messiah (Jesus’ Hebrew name). He is the preserving influence which sustains mankind. (Col. 1:7) The Congregation of Believers are the salt and preserving agent in this world. God wiped out all men in the predevulian age, because their every thought was evil. (Gen. 6:5) Yet, Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. God Destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, but would have restrained, if only ten righteous people were found, though He spared Lot and his family. (Gen. 19:15-17) God allowed wayward Israel to go into captivity several times, but delivered them, until He scattered them across the world. In our day, He has reestablished the nation of Israel in the land He gave their ancestors.

The point is that God is greater than any evil or wicked generation. He remains a rock of shelter in every storm. He is the faithful deliverer of His people. There is no evil that He can not cure or situation He can not turn to good.(Rom. 8:28) When God begins His work within the human heart He makes a new creation from the old. He deposits faith, opens blind eyes, and deaf ears. He causes Believers to be born again and gives the Holy Spirit as a guarantee and enabler. Those who were once sick, poisoned, evil, hopeless, sad, faithless and lost people, become Children of God. If God is able to make those who were enemy’s into His own family, there is nothing impossible for Him.

In the light of God’s love, power, and grace we should not fear, nor let go of the hope laid out so clearly in His Word. Yeshua has condemned the enemy and is now destroying his works, death will be the last enemy to be destroyed. Yeshua gives us hope as an anchor for our soul, and said, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God ; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (John 14:1-3)
