God gives gifts to His children for benefit of His family on earth. The actualization of those gifts is the fulfillment of God’s purposes. The enemy has figured this out over time, seeing how wonderful, effective and glorious is God’s design and plan for mankind. He seeks to kill, steal and destroy through lies and deceit, knowing his time is getting short. Even ten thousand years is short compared to eternity, perhaps it seems like the blink of an eye. Thwarted by Yeshua’s triumph from doing any real damage, he tries to deceive anyone who listens to think there are no gifts, they ceased after the first century, only special people get gifts, none are appropriate in public and should be kept private, preaching/teaching is the only gift, your gift is to sit in a pew one hour a week, nothing in the Bible is literal with respect to individuals, you’ve considered gifts-nothing works, etc.
However, when the vale of this world’s shadows is lifted, and light brighter than a thousand suns, in the spiritual realm reveals the hidden life of God’s children, we will see God’s gifts at work in space and time. A Believer will pray and those prayers will move the finger of God, saving, protecting, supplying, delivering, overcoming the enemy. Another Believer will speak or write prophetic messages of encouragement, unknown but to the hearer who is given help, insight and restored faith in God. A Believer will give funds as the Spirit leads to accomplish the very purposes of God for those in need. A Believer will share the message of Yeshua with a stranger or an associate in a way that opens their eyes of faith and puts them on the path to salvation. Some with healing and helping hands will touch and bind up broken hearts, wounds and diseases with simple loving acts of kindness flowing specifically and directly from God’s mercy. All sorts and expressions of gifts will operate unseen and in spite of the enemy’s discouragement and schemes.
Believers are weak and flawed, they may not even understand the ways of God. Just as Gideon was surprised at the angels greeting, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” (Judges 6:12) “Pardon me, my Lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about…but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.” (Judges 6:13-15) We need to have faith in God that He can accomplish His work through us and not give up believing in His almighty ability. Some have believed God’s gifts and calling in their lives, but they have never seen or received any encouragement therein, nevertheless, through years they have stood their ground in faith, following as best they could the Spirits lead. The word of God is clear, “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” (John 7:38) “And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.” (Matthew 10:42) Do not be deceived or discouraged God dwells mightily among His people, the Congregation of Believers world-wide. “for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable.” (Romans 11:29)
