“Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called ‘uncircumcised’ by those who call themselves ‘the circumcision’ (which is done in the body by human hands)— remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, …” (Eph. 2: 11-14). This scripture explains, in the negative, that non-Israelis become joined with Messiah, citizens in Israel, natives to the covenants of the promise, with hope and God. This explains the believers, natural affection towards Israel. It also shows how great a blessing God gives to be fully adopted into the family of God, with full rights as native-born.
“Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.” (Col. 1: 21-23). This confirms what is laid out in Ephesians above, that Spiritual Israel includes all who believe in Messiah Yeshua—Gentile believers who have been adopted along with believing Israelis.
“This is what the Lord says, he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar— the Lord Almighty is his name: ‘Only if these decrees vanish from my sight,’ declares the Lord, ‘will Israel ever cease being a nation before me.’ This is what the Lord says: ‘Only if the heavens above can be measured and the foundations of the earth below be searched out will I reject all the descendants of Israel because of all they have done,’ declares the Lord. ‘The days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when this city will be rebuilt for me from the Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate. The measuring line will stretch from there straight to the hill of Gareb and then turn to Goah. The whole valley where dead bodies and ashes are thrown, and all the terraces out to the Kidron Valley on the east as far as the corner of the Horse Gate, will be holy to the Lord. The city will never again be uprooted or demolished.’ ” (Jeremiah: 31:35-40).
This is an affirmation made by God:
1) Israel will never cease being a nation before me, and 2) Jerusalem will be rebuilt and never again be uprooted or demolished.
As surety He offers, only if: 1) The sun, moon, stars, and sea will vanish, and 2) The heavens above can be measured and the earth’s foundations are searched out will He reject all Israel’s descendants.
These are very certain conditions, essentially our universe must dissolve in part one. In part two, we need to measure not only our galaxy, but all the galaxies in the universe and find a beginning point beyond that in which to begin our measurements; and to explore the depths of the oceans and into the earth’s core. Considering man has not explored all the depths of the oceans which is above the crust of the earth, it goes without saying that we will never explore below into the earth’s core. If we developed a subterranean exploration capsule, (a submarine for rock and lava) that can dig through earth’s hardest rock and travel through molten lava under such extreme pressures that those found in the depths of the ocean will seem minor, then we can make a start with the exploration efforts.
I think we can take God’s statements to the bank, as the saying goes. Reality indicates that Israel has not failed to be a nation of Peoples even in exile. Jerusalem was to be rebuilt, which it was, and remains a city to this very day. Many nations, Peoples and cities have been totally extinguished from existence and even memory. God’s promises are certain.
