There is a fact disclosed in the Bible that is remarkable, well, there are many, but this little tidbit is fascinating.

“But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” (Matthew 12:36-37)

Contemporary versions have “useless” or “careless” for empty words. The final judgment is explained throughout scripture.  “For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written:“ ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’ ” So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.” (Romans 14:11-12;  Revelation 20:12) Yeshua said, “Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son,” (John 5:22) When He first came to earth Yeshua came to save, deliver, and redeem people for God; He will come again as a lion to fulfill every prophecy, save all Israel, and defeat the enemy. Then, when all authority has been removed but God’s, there will be judgment. “For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.” (Eccles. 12:14; 3:17) Just as every word will be available for judgment, so will every deed and motive of the heart. For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open. ” (Luke 8:17; 1 Cor. 4:4-5) There will be no circumstantial evidence to consider, no questions about intent or motives as these are recorded and will be disclosed and brought into the open. “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” (Heb. 4:12-13)

The extent and detail of God’s record of all time and space is just as unlimited as his power and perfection. The enemy and our limited thinking can deceived us regarding the reality, nearness, and all surpassing infinite nature and omnipresence of God. “So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” (Matt. 20:26-31) These measurements of each hair, every word and motive are not exaggerations intended to stress a point. God is not like us, “Every word of God is flawless;” (Prov. 30:5) My prayer for you and I is, “With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.” (2 Thess. 1:11)
