There is a song which says, “Jesus, King of Angels”. I’ve thought more than once, “Jesus is the King of Man, not of angels”. Of course, He is king of everything which includes Angels too. […]
There will be a time in everyone’s existence where all the shadows are illuminated, revealing a startling reality, a shuddering awareness as we enter the realm of everlasting day. The presence of God will fill […]
Heaven is described in the Bible and most everyone would like to go to heaven. The Eastern religions do not describe a delightful heaven, but rather, depict an absence of earth’s pain or a nirvana […]
I experienced a dream of dying which was filled with emotion and questioning. Each of us will face, whether consciously or not, a point where we breath our last breath. Breathing is an involuntary action, […]
I will never forget the images of Christian Kurds/Arabs captured by Isis, lined up upon their knees. They were praying verbally to Yeshua to endure what was coming. Scripture reveals two important and related anchors […]
We humans are made in the image of God, meaning we have an appearance of Him. The similarity may be in our triune existence of spirit, soul, and body, as God is Father, Son, and […]
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a […]
Someone said something to me and I assumed I understood, until I saw what they actually meant. I was given a message that made sense, but it was not specific or in context, so my […]
“And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord. And they shall go forth and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.” Isiah 66:23-24.
“It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, ‘where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’ ” Mark 9:47-48.
”If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink the wine of God’s wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy
God is a three-part person, one God of three inseparable, yet distinct parts. We are made in God’s image, we look like Him, and that image encompasses the trinity. (Gen. 1: 26-27; Gen 5:1; Gen. 9:6). It might be that we are unique, as are other heavenly creatures and it may be that the human distinction is being a three-part being. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Ps. 139:13-16).
We do not always perceive ourselves either created in God’s image nor as having three inseparable parts. The scripture says it was God’s idea and that He made us for fellowship with Him. (1 John 1:3; 1 Cor. 1:9). God
C.S. Lewis wrote, “No amount of falls will really undo us if we keep on picking ourselves up each time. We shall of course be very muddy and tattered children by the time we reach home. But the bathrooms are all ready, the towels put out, and the clean clothes in the airing cupboard.”
This image of entering heaven a muddy mess, to be received by the one well prepared and fully capable of cleaning us up, touched me deeply, as I considered the grace and love of God toward
When I get to heaven, I’m going to be able to play the heavenly instruments and write some music and sing songs that flow from the Lord. Heaven will be populated with the redeemed saints, spirits of righteous men made perfect. (Heb. 12:23). God will be there, nothing will separate us from Him and we will know as we are fully known. There will be no night there (Rev. 21:25; 22:5) because the Lord will be the light. There will be no evil, no lies, no accusations or tempter. The glory of the nation’s will be there, (Rev. 21:26; 22:3) the true goodness of each nation, each people
Moses was maybe the person who saw Father God most clearly, at least His Glory. He asked to see God and God put him under a rock to protect him from a face to face encounter, then allowed Moses to see his back as He passed. (Exodus 33:18-23). Of course many people saw Yeshua, who is God in human form, when He visited old Testament patriarchs; when He was alive, resurrected, and through visions after He ascended. It is not by mistake that we have no description of Him from all these people.
We rely and trust
Judeo-Christian teaching is full of the concept of the after life including much on heaven – the kingdom of God and some on Hell, Hades, and eternal punishment. For Believers Heaven is our goal, to be eternally in God’s glorious presence, and “saved” from God’s wrath and eternal torment. We are encouraged to think of our heavenly reward.
“For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed…
When we enter into the afterlife we will be free of many lies, conjecture, assumption, misunderstanding, and deception that we held while on earth. For many, the most obvious will be the existence in which we enter, but this will be of no surprise to Christians, as we look forward to it from the beginning; although not so much the it of it, but rather the whom of it. But there will be many other, less subtle falsehoods that will be gone, for example, the class distinctions among people, everyone will be treated the same, not equally, but each with justice and righteousness.
The powerful will…
